It is evident that married women work more total hours per day than married men in both age categories. This is largely due to the increased number of hours women spend on paid work, especially in the 45-64 age, where they work the longest hours overall.
Men aged 25-44 work slightly more hours in paid jobs compared to those aged 45-64; however, this number is significantly higher when compared to women in the same age group.
Women in the 25-44 age group work nearly equal hours inside and outside of the home. This pattern continues in the 45-64 age group, although the difference becomes more notable. In contrast, men in both age groups work approximately three times as many hours outside the home as they do inside.
