The share of people who had one car was 32% in 1971. We have seen an increase of 48% by 1991. And after that ii fell to 44% in 2001. The category “2 cars or more” accounted for only 20% in 1971. By 1991 the percentage of people owning 2 cars or more was 21%. Then it increased to 28% in 2001.
Overall, the category “no car” was the biggest at the beginning of the of the period, and “2 cars and more” the smallest. By the end these 2 categories amounted to the same percent. The share of people owned 1 car was the second one biggest in 1971 and became the highest by the end of the period
