The chart compares the electricity consumption across different sectors in Eastern Europe in 2007 and 2010.
Overall, there were several notable changes. The electricity consumption in four sectors namely, transport, residential, commercial and agriculture, remained unchanged throughout the period. While the figures for mining and other metals increased, the manufacturing and aluminium categories witnessed noticeable declines.
The proportion of other metals consumption rose dramatically from 12.3% in 2007 to 18.3% in 2010. Similarly, mining sector saw a slight rise from 9% to 9.4% in the given years. In comparison, the proportions of agriculture and residential fields remained stable at 0.8% and 28%, respectively, with the former representing the lowest and the latter the highest figures in both years.
By contrast, the figures for manufacturing and aluminium sectors fell gradually from 12.7% and 13.2% in 2007 to 8.5% and 11% in 2010, respectively. Meanwhile, transport and commercial categories also remained unchanged at 1% and 23%, in that order in the given years.
