The bar chart illustrates the employment status of men and women in Uzbekistan in 2016. Overall, the unemployment and retirement accounted for the largest proportions among both men and women. In addition, full-time employment was more common among men than women, whereas the status of housewives was only recorded for females. In general, women were less represented in the workforce compared to men.
The persentage of unemployed males were at 85%, while the unemployed females were at approximately 78%. However, the employment status was significantly lower at 45% of men and only at 38% of women. The proportion of full-time employed women was slightly lower than that of men. Meanwhile, the part-time employment was recorded only for woman at 40%.
In contrast, the retirement proportion were quite similar with unemployment proportion, the men share accounted at around 87%, while the females proportion remained the same at 78%. By contrast, the persentage of housewifery was represented to women at 50%.
