The bar chart depicts information about the percentages of the total expenses on three sections, food and drink, resturant and hotel, and entertainment, according to several age group varied from under 30 to over 76 years old living in Britain, in 2004.
Overall, the trend shows a gradual increase in the expenses of food and drinks with the age, additionally, it illustrates a steady elevation in the expenditure on the entertainment section with age; except for group whose ages were 76 and over, it showed a decrease in this section. Meanwhile, there was a downward trend in resturant and hotel costs coincidence with age, with an exception for group 76 and over.
Regarding individuals aged under 30, their highest expenditure was on resturant and hotel, as this category represented around 14% of their total expenditure, on the other hand, they spent around 7% and 5% on entertainment and food and drink, respectively. Residents aged between 31 and 45 spent the most of their whole expenses on food and drink at nearly 13%, furthermore, they spent approximately 12% on restaurants and hotels, while only 8% on entertainment. Similar pattern where found on age group between 46 and 60; as they spent the same percentage on resturants and hotels, but their most expenditure was on food and drink which scored 17%, additionally they spent more on entertainment at nearly 14%.
Age group between 61 and 75 highest expenditure was on entertainment section at nearly 23%; followed by food and drink category at 20%, they were the least group to spend on resturants and hotels at only around 2%. Seniors aged 76 and over, payed around 23% for food and drink, 13% for entertainment, while approximately 7% only for resturants and hotels.
