Overall, we can see that the number of sales of handheld games, mobile phone games and online games increased in there years, while the amount of console games sales decreased every year. Moreover, the graph shows that handheld games are absolutely the preferred digital games.
In fact, already in 2000 handheld games have been sold for a total amount of almost 11 billion dollars; this number increased gradually each year, until 2006, when handheld games fruited 18 billion dollars.
The chart illustrates that the selling of online games started only in 2001, for less than 1 bn dollars, but their popularity grew so much in the years: in 2006 online games have been sold for nearly 9 billion dollars. Mobile phone games showed a similar trend: the selling started just in 2002 and fruited about 1 billion dollars, but this number rose to 7 billions in 2006.
On the contrary, the number of console games sold decreased gradually over the years, from 6 billion dollars in 2000 to 3 billions dollars in 2006.
