The chart illustrates the games (mobile phone, online, console and handheld) which were sold between 2000 and 2006. Units are measured in billions of dollars.
Overall, it can be seen that the sales of handheld games, increased gradually and were by far the most expensive in the category in over the period given, while the cheapest one was online games which started in 2001 and continued to the end of the year given. On the other hand, console games saw a significant decrease in the sales between 2000 and 2006.
In terms of handheld games, sales of it went up slightly from under 12 billion dollars in 2000 to around 18 billion dollars in 2006, while there was a drop in the sale of console games as opposed to handheld games between in the first and end of the year given ( from approximately 6 to around 3 billion dollars).
With regard to the sales of both mobile phone and online games, they rose dramatically from around the 1 billion dollars in 2002 to above 6 billion dollars in 2006 and from marginally above 0 in 2002 to well under 12 billion dollars respectively. Moreover, mobile phone games started to be sold at the same level as online games in 2002.
