The data depicts the immigrants’ numbers in Germany by state in 2000 and 2010.
Overall, the majority of immigrants were from Europe, Oceania, America, and East Asia in both years. Then, the rest of them, from Africa and South Asia. However, Europian immigriants recorded the apex number in 2000 and 2010 as well.
In 2000, the number of immigrants from Europe was 30 million, which was the highest number. Although in 2010 the number dropped, it still held its peak position. Following that, immigrants from Oceania, East Asia, and America ranged between 13 million and 24 million gradually, not only in 2000, but also in 2010. In these three continents, the number had a significant difference from 2000 to 2010.
On the other hand, African and South Asian immigrants’ number were always below 10 million. Specifically, South Asian immigrants’ number ranged around 5 million in 2000 and 2010.
