In general, the number of students in full-time education increased both female and male during three time periods. While the proportion of student studying part-time rose steadily for female and fluctuated for male.
To start with, the women studying part-time rose time by time, starting from about 700.000 in 1970/71 to more than 1 million in 1990/91. In addition, the number of men studying part-time fluctuated.
In contrast, the full-time male student increased during three time periods, in 1970/71 under 100.000 students and in 1990/91 more than 200.000 students. Moreover, the women who became full-time students also increased. In 1970/71 the proportion of women studying full-time fewer than men students but in 1990/91 the number of men and women studying full-time was same.
