Overall, the number of adult visitors was the highest of three types over the period. It is also clear that the number of speical exhibition visitors experienced an increase from 1997 to 2012 while the opposite pattern is witnessed in the number of visitors aged under 15.
Looking first at the number of visitors who under 15 years old, there were 120,000 of them went to the museum in 1997, 4 times as high as the figure of special exhibition visitors, at 28,000.While the amount of visitors under 15 years old witnessed a marked decrease by around 40,000 over the period, the number of speical exhibition saw an opposite trend, soaring to 42,000 in 2012.
Turning next to the number of adult visitors, in 1997, the museum welcomed 300,100 of adult visitors.The amount of these visitors was then rose significantly and reached the peak at 400,500 in 2007.However, it decreased to 380,000 after 5 years.
