In general, the number of adult visitors and special exhibition visitors witnessed with an upward trend while that of visitors aged under 15 dropped moderately in 2012. The figure of adult visitors was the highest over the period.
As can be seen, the number of adult visitors started to 300,200 visitors in 1997, it peaked to approximately 400,000 visitors in 2007 and finally decreased slightly to 380,000 visitors in 2012. Besides, that of special exhibition visitors was almost the same. Starting to 28,000 visitors in 1997, the figure experienced a marginal climb to around 42,000 visitors in 2012.
On the contrary, regarding the number of visitors aged under 15 witnessed with a downward trend. The number started to just above 100,000 visitors in 1997, after which it had dropped moderately, approximately 82,000 visitors in 2012. Additionally, turning to the total attendance at the museum, it recorded 448,100 visitors in 1997 before growing to a high of 525,200 in 2007. By the end of the period, the figure fell slightly in 2012, to just under 504,000 visitors
