The bar chart illustrates how much a car manufacturer’s total sales was distributed in four countries between 2006 to 2010.
Overall, there was a decline in the proportion of a car manufacturer’s total sold in North America and Europe, while the opposite trend can be seen in the figures for Asia and those for South America fluctuated slightly. It is also clear that selling Asia total enjoying the most considerable growth to become by far the most sold from 2009 onwards.
11% of total cars were sold by manufacturers in South America in 2006, with a halving decline to 5% in 2009 and a final substantial recovery to its original proportion of 11% at the end of the period. Conversely, the figure for Europe decreased slightly from 34% in 2006 to 30% in 2010, despite a small rise in the first 3 years.
The percentage of a car manufacture’s total sales in Asia started at 25%, after which it saw a significant rise to 35% in 2008, before reaching a peak of 50% in the final year. The reverse trend can be seen in the figure for North America, which dropped from 30% to only 9% over the 4-year period.
