The bar charts depicts the variation in the proportion of companies in three continents selling drugs between 2002 and 2006. Overall, it can seen that the total drug sales in America showed a descending trend, while those in Asia recorded the opposite. Additionally, the percentage of drug selling in Europe was slightly fluctuation.
Looking in more detail, in 2002, the proportion of drug company’s total sales in America stood at 41%, representing a significant portion. However, this number remained to decrease for the next three years before increasing by one per cent in the final period at 30%. In contrast, the rate of selling in Asia rose consistently over the half-decade, from 25% in 2002 to 40% in 2006, becoming the largest contributor among the three regions.
On the other hand, although this business in Europe rose marginally during the first three years, reaching the largest figure of 38% in 2004 compared to other countries, this figure experienced a decline, dropping by 8% to reach 30% in 2006.
