The bar chart showed the proportion of Australian children in three groups taking part in four kinds of activities in 2018.
Overall, while among all age groups of children the most popular activity was watching TV, conversely, playing computer games was the least chosen activity. Another interesting point is that children aged 12-16 preferred riding bikes more than other groups.
In 2018, the percentage of Australian children aged 5-8 who preferred watching TV was the highest, reaching almost 95%, compared to both older age groups, which had equal figures of 80%. In contrast, playing computer games was the least chosen activity among adolescents, with only 40% participation. The remaining minors showed nearly the same rate of around 60%.
Regarding the reading activity, older age groups spent more time on it, with nearly 80%, compared to younger children, who were less interested at around 60%. Meanwhile, children aged 12-16 engaged in riding bikes the most, with 89%, whereas other age groups spent less time on this activity, at approximately 60%.
