The bar chart compares the proportion of Australian children (5-8 years old, 9-11 years old, and 12-14 years old) participating in four types of activities, namely art, reading, riding a bicycle, and watching TV in 2012. Overall, watching TV was the most popular activity among all children. It is also clear that art was highly taken part by 5-8 years old, while 9-11 years old kids preferred a reading activity than others. When it comes to riding a bicycle, 12-14 years old children were involved more than other children.
On the one hand, the proportion of children participating both art and riding a bicycle was different. The proportion of 5-8 years old children had the highest proportion in art 80%, followed distantly by 9-11 years old children 70%. 12-14 years old children had only 60%. The opposite trend was observed in riding a bicycle, 12-14 years old children had the highest proportions 80%, followed slightly by 9-11 years old kids by 78%, while 5-8 years old children was only 65%.
On the other hand, the proportion of both reading and watching TV was similar. The percentage of reading was the highest with 75%, while both 5-8 and 9-11 years old showed the same percentage with 70%. The most popular activity among all children. 12-14 years old children were dominant with 95%, followed slightly by 9-11 years old kids with 93%, and 5-8 years old children had 90%.
