Overall, it is notable that glass was the dominant material recycled in 2002. In contrast, plastic was the least reused in all the years, while for the remaining, paper surpassed cans by condsiderable amount, except in 1997, there was a large gap between two amounts.
Looking at the details, in 2002, glass reached it’s summit, with nearly 48% from 28% and 17% in 1997 and 1992 respectively. Regarding plastic, it was clear that it was the lowest of all materials throughout, as it showed slight changes during the period, in 2002 and 1997 it was equal, with roughly 12%, but for 1992 it fell to 10% precisely. Moreover, although cans had more chances than plastic, paper still exceeded it with a significant increase, as paper in 2002, jumped to 38%, however for plastic it was only 24%, and this was the highest year for both.
