The bar chart illustrates the proportion of household owning and renting accommodation in two countries (England and Wales) between 1918 and 2011. The data have beem measured in percentages.
Looking from a general perspective, it is readily apparent that the figure for households in owned in accommodation dramatically increased, whereas the rate for households in rented accommodation saw a decrease. Though the latter can be seen to dominate by the half of whole time frame, the latter experienced a smooth dominance during the remaining period.
To begin, the percentage of household owning in England and Wales was recorded at its peak rate (about 77%). This rate witnessed a gradual decline to 68% in 1953, as well as it dropped steadily to its small figure in 2001, reaching just above 30%. However, despite the fact that the rate undergone a drammatic fall, there was to increae slightly to 35% at the end of period.
Conversely, the latter stood at approximately 24% in 1918, which was followed by precisely 40% in 1961. During the next four decades, this rate witnessed a shark growth to its high point, reaching just under 80%, though it undergone few drop to 65% in 2011.
