Overall, there was an increase in the percentage of households owning all electronic devices examined, with the figure for people having a MP3 player witnessing the least dramatic rise. In addition, the figure for households which bought a mobile phone was consistently the highest throughout the period.
The share of families owning a telephone started at about 9%, after which it experienced a significant growth to 70% in 2000, before ending the period at approximately 96%. The figure for households who posessed a computer saw similar changes, rising from 9% in 1995 to 60 in 2005, and continued to gradually increase to 96% at the end of the period examined.
Roughly 18% of households owned a MP3 player, with a subsequent rise to 41% 20 years later. Meanwhile, not until about 2002 did people start having a computer at their home, but this figure also rose dramatically, reaching just north of 81% after a decade of being commercialized.
