Individuals aged 55 to 65 and over used less than other age groups.
In 2014, individuals from 26-35 and 35-45 were the main customers of online shops, with the former one showing 31% and the latter one being above 25%. However, after four years, the proportion of people aged 35 to 45 rose dramatically to almost 40%, surpassing the age group before them. The next age group who used the internet for shopping was people aged 45-55. While the percentage of those people was 22% in 2014, it went up in the following four years, reaching 26% in the questionnaire.
The youngest age group (15-25) was the fourth who mostly used online shops, with 20% in 2014, which then increased to 23% in 2018. But, the proportion of the eldest age groups 55-65 and over 65 who bought goods online was 11% and 6% respectively, whereas the percentage of both age groups increased over the four years, with the former one showing 17% and the latter one showing 11% at the end.
