The bar chart illustrates the population of males and females in England in 2006 who engaged in seven types of activities in their free time. Units are measured in percentage.
Overall, men were more active than woman in the period given. Both men and women spent the most time watching TV, whereas the least time was allocated to playing computer games. Furthermore, the most significant difference in participation between men and women is in shopping and using the Internet.

Similarly, the participation of men in doing sport or exercise and reading was higher than women (under 80% and around 70% respectively). The percentage of men who used the Internet in their leisure time (under 80%) was almost double that of women, who were under 40%. Not much men and women were interested in playing computer games and it stood for around 15% for men compared to about 5% for women.
On the other hand, the proportion of women who did remaining activities was higher. Under 80% of women went shopping, which was considerably more than men at over 20%. Moreover, just under 80% of women spent time with family as opposed to men with a slight decrease at under 80%.
