The chart gives information on the percentage of people that are overweight in such countries as Japan, Sweden, Britain, and USA in 1980, 1990, and 2000.
Overall, it is clear from the data that the main trend in all of the four presented countries is the increase of the overweight adult population throughout the years.
It can be seen that the country with the biggest numbers in all of the three periods of time is the USA. The peak was in 2000 – more than 30% of the population were overweight that year. In comparison with the previous period the growth was 10%. And the lowest number of overweight people in the USA was recorded in 1980 – less than 20% of the population.
According to the numbers, the country that keeps the percentage lower than others, and, apparently, is the healthiest country out of the four presented is Japan. The numbers of overweight population are less than 2,5%, 2,5% and 5% in 1980, 1990, 2000 respectively.
