The bar chart illustrates the percentage of men, women and children who managed to consume five portions of food and vegetables between 2001 and 2008.
Overall, an initial analysis reveals that women were the number one consumer surpassing both other categories over all the period analyzed. While children made up the lowest percentage.
The proportion of women consuming five piece of healthy food a day accounted for the highest number, it started well over 20% in 2001, and continued to rise reaching its peak in 2006, at almost 40%. Then in 2007 and 2008, it fluctuated over 30%.
Men and children witnessed approximately the same trend development, they both stabilized at the same percentage during the three first years (2001, 2002, 2003) just over 15% and 10%, respectively. Then from 2004 to 2006 the number of men increased to almost 30%, before experiencing a slight decrease during the final year to significantly under than 30%. The number of kids also kept developing until witnessing its largest increase in 2007, marginally over 25%.
