The bar chart illustrates the proportion of the population in the UK who met the recommended daily intake of fruits and vegetables in three specific years: 2002, 2006, and 2010.
Overall, a higher proportion of women achieved the daily requirements regarding healthy food intake, while children showed the lowest preference for fruits and vegetables throughout the period.
In 2002, women made up almost one fourth of the share, while men recorded a percentage slightly below that, at 22%. Fast forward to 2006, women displayed a substantial increase to 32%, reaching its peak across the period, with men’s proportion increasing by 6%. Both men and women showed more or less the same rates in 2010, close to 25%.
Across these 3 years, children ranked last among the population, with 11% of the share in 2002, then showing a 5% increase in 2006, and slightly decreasing by 2% in 2010, at 14%.
