The graph represents the proportion of businesses making e-commerce purchases by industry in Canada from 2015 to 2019. The five industries are respectively manufacturing, construction, wholesale, retail, and information and communications.
The percentage of manufacturing grows from 2015 to 2016, after a one-year decrease, it rises again until 2019. It grows from about 32% in 2015 to 59% in 2019. The rates of Construction and wholesale goes up steadily. Construction has obviously grown more than wholesale, while the total number of wholesale is still higher than construction. As for retail, the percentage rises dramatically at the first year, and then goes up slowly until 2018. In 2019, the rate drops a little compared to last year. The curve of information and communications is similar to retail, which shows that the trend goes up at first and then goes down in the end. Though with the decrease in last year, information and communications still maintain the highest percentage among five insduries, which is approximately 70%.
In summary, percentages in all industries show upward trends from 2015 to 2019. Though manufacturing once decreases, the trend is rising overall. Moreover, construction shows the most notable growth among all industries.
