Overall, it is evident that female participation rates were typically higher than their male counterparts across most subjects, except for Art & Design. Additionally, Communication & Media Study had the highest female enrolments, while English language & Literature majors attracted the most male students, and both were popular choices.
The number of female students varied across the subjects, ranging from around 120 students to 270 students. Regarding Communication & Media Study, this major emerged as the front-runner with the highest enrolments with approximately 270 students, followed closely by English language & Literature, hovering at 250 students. The top three major, Linguistics, had around 245 students compared to 150 female students opted Philosophy. The enrolment in Art & Design study saw around 155 females, while History & Archaeology displayed marked divergence from this trend, with the figure of 125 females.
Male enrolments were significantly lower compared to their female counterparts. English language & Literature had the highest number of males, nearly 225 male students, 30 students higher than that of Communication & Media Study and Linguistics. The figure for Art & Design nearly doubled that of History & Archaeology, at about 175 and 85 males students respectively. Finally, Philosophy figure demonstrated a significantly low enrolments of only 50 male student, making it the only lowest subject with fewer than 100 male students
