Overall, the percentage of employment in the UK for people aged less than 50 was extensively higher than their counterpart in both years. Notably, those who aged 41-50 and 21-30 witnessed a remarkable increase in the employment rate. Additionally, in 2015, the proportion of employees under 21 was the lowest, but it was 31-40 aged staffs in 2020.
In 2015, there were 23% of working people with the age of over 50. However, this number dropped to 16% in 2020. The similar pattern can also be observed for the under 21 and 31-40 age groups, falling from 14% and 21%, respectively, to about 11.5%.
Meanwhile, the opposite was true for 21-30 and 41-50 age categories. Those who were from 21 to 30 years old had an employment rate of 23% in 2015, while it was 19% for 41-50 aged individuals. These two figures surged considerably by approximately 10% in 2020.
