This graph showcases the proportions of staff employed by age in the public sector of the UK between 2015 and 2020. The age groups of under 21, over 50, and 31 through 40 indicates a downward trend. Whereas the age groups of 21 to 30, and 41 to 50 had an upward trend.
In 2015, the most requested age group was a 2-way tie between 21 till 30 year olds, and people aged above 50 with a 23% rate of employment. Next are the 40 to 50 year olds with a 21% rate of employment. Up next are the under 21 group with a 19% rate.
Additionally, in 2020, the most employed age group was the 21 to 30 year olds as their rate increased dramatically to a 33% rate of employment. Followed by the 40 to 50 year olds with a 28% rate, which also had an increase of employment. On the other hand, the rest of the age groups being the under 21s, the above 50 year olds, and the 31 till 40 year olds had employment rates drop drastically, the under 21s decreased to a measly 12%, and the older than 50 year olds decreased to 16% and the 31 to 40 year olds decreased to 13%.
