The bar chart illustrates the amount of different elements used to make 1000 polystyrene cups. The table gives information about the exact quantities of each resource used for both types of cups.

It is clear that the production of polystyrene cups is environmentally friendly, because it costs less energy and dose not need to any wood, while 1000 paper cups almost needs 220 kilogram of wood.

In terms of the bar chart the production of 1000 polystyrene cups needs to 8 kilograms petroleum and 13 kilogram other chemicals. steam needs to large quantity, which is 10 times as much as of other chemicals. Whereas, this process is energy saving only costing 0.6 of water and electricity was 6 kilowats.

According to the table in the process of making paper cups the comsumpation of water and electricity far more 10 m and 78 kilowats respectivley than in polystyrene cups. It also require more petroleum, which is 18 kilogram. Steam is also required in minor amount as compared to that needed in polystyrene cups.
