The pie chart illustrates the popularity of four various attractions among tourists in the UK in 1999. Overall, theme parks were the most visited attraction which consisted of 5 different themes, whereas wild animals were the least popular category.
Museums/galleries and theme parks were responsible for the highest shares with almost equal percentages (37% and 38% respectively). Historic Houses/monuments accounted for 16% which was the third highest contribution. Finally, attractions dedicated to wild animals such as wildlife parks and zoos contributed just below 10% to overall visits.
In the Theme Parks almost half of the visitors went to Blackpool Pleasure Beach (47 %), while Alton Towers and Pleasureland together attracted just above 35% of people. The remaining 20% of surveyors preferred to go to World of Advantures and Legoland with equal proportions for each sector.
