Overall, it can be clearly seen that the food consistently contributed the largest spending by the younger generations despite a noticeable fall in 2010 while smartphones and toiletries exhibited steady growth in their spending . In contrast, the clothes remained unchanged in its spending over the period.
The food was by far the dominant donor throughout the timeframe. In 2010 the meal allocated approximately 38 million dollars before increasing to around 44 million dollars.
Turning to the smartphones and toiletries made comparatively small and inconsistent spending. The smartphones which spend 20 million dollars by young adults in 2010 before rising to around 28 million dollars. Similarly, toiletries followed a similar trend, accounted at around 19 million dollars, which growth to 20 million dollars.
On the other hand, books were the smallest categories over the period, which started at 10 million dollars before dipping to 5 million dollars spending. The clothes bucked the trend. Its expenditure remained relatively stable at 25 million dollars throughout the period.
