Overall, both national and international – fixed line and mobile calls demonstrated an upward trend, while local – fixed line, throughout the whole period, presented a fluctuating trend with the highest amount of minutes.
To begin with, starting from 1995 to 1998 the UK telephone calls for national and international – fixed line and mobiles categories had a slight increase, with change for less than 10 billions of minutes for both. From more than thirty five to almost fifty billion minutes for the former and more than a zero to about ten billion minutes for the latter.However, in 1999 the UK group of Mobiles calls started to rise steadily, from ten billion minutes to approximately forty five billions of calls in 2002. Whereas National and international – fixed line grew only slightly for exactly ten billions of calls.
To continue with, for the first four years the Local fixed line sector outlined a steady increase. From higher than seventy billion minutes to ninety billion minutes,concurrently reaching its peak, and then ultimately declined to nearly 75 billion minutes
