The line chart illustrates the percentage of global use of information and communication technology, as known as ICT between 1998 to 2008.

In general, while landline, fixed broadband, internet, and wifi showed upward trends, the opposite pattern was seen in cell phone. Another notable observation is that at the end of the surveyed period, mobile had been surpasses by the remaining methods, becomig the least common usage of ICT.

Starting the chart at under 10%, landline was the kind of technology that used the most. From then on, this figure fluctuated upward to 20% in 2008. Following the same trend, the percentage of usage internet rose sharply to over 20%, becoming the most common utilization among others measures, despite decresing slightly from 2005 to 2007. Wifi started using in 2003. From then on, this figure increased significantly to about 15% at the end of the period.

In contrast, the perceentage of usage ICT by cell phone showed a general decrease. In particular, this figure climbed sharply and reached a peak at 45%. However, they suddenly plummet to 0% in 2008, returning the starting point.
