The chart gives information about different grains (wheat barley, rice, and other products) grown across three various countries in 2001.
Overall, China and USA recorded the highest figures in terms of growing all grains, while there was the lowest indicator in India. Delving into details, figures for USA and China were almost equal in terms of producing other grains, both at 9 million tonnes, but the amount of those grown in India was significantly lower, amounting to just below 2 million tonnes. As for rice, the rate of rice production in India was not nearly as much as that in USA and China, at just 1 million tonnes. In contrast, China and USA had 5 million tonnes and 6 million tonnes, respectively.
When it comes to barley, China and USA grew more amount of barley than India’s(1.5 mln tonnes), with their figures at 6.5 million tonnes in the former and just above 7 million tonnes in the latter. Regardless of wheat, there was not a significant difference in wheat production of these countries. There is 1 million tonnes gap between the share of Chinese and Americans, at 3.5 million tons and 2.5 million tonnes respectively, while 1.2 million tonnes of wheat was produced in India the year 2001.
