This document is a bar chart that illustrates the number of girls per 100 boys enroiled in different levels of education in 1990 and 1998.
Overall, the amount of girls per 100 boys is higher in developed countries than it is in developing countries, in every level of education, both in 1990 and in 1998.
It seems that the difference between developped countries and developping countries isn’t significant, except for the tertiary education where the developping countries contain 66 girls per 100 boys in 1990 and 75 in 1998. Whereas in developped countries, the target set at 100 is surpassed with 105 females in 1990 and 112 in 1998.
The discrepency in secondary education is less important than in tertiary education, still it should be highlighted. In the countries still developping the amount of girls per 100 boys is of 77 in 1990 and 82 in 1998. However, in the countries that are already developped there are 98 girls per 100 boys in 1990 and 99 girls per 100 boys in 1998. Moreover, in the primary education, we can notice 83 and 87 girls per 100 boys each year (1990 and 1998), while in the developped countries there almost 10 more than in the developping ones.
