The bar chart depicts the export earnings of one country’s goods exported in five categories: Petroleum products, engineered goods, gems and jewellery, agricultural products and textiles in two years. Meanwhile, the table illustrates how these types of exported goods change in terms of percentage from 2015 to 2016.
Overall, the revenue of petroleum products and engineered goods recorded the highest figure, outstripping all other categories, with textiles recording the lowest figure. However, about the percentage change, the textiles sector saw the fastest increase, while agricultural products were the slowest. Furthermore, gems and jewellery was the sole category that witnessed a moderate decrease between 2015 and 2016.
It can be seen clearly that petroleum products were the most popular, with about 60 billion dollars in revenue in the year 2015, and still dominated the overseas markets with about 62 in 2016. Meanwhile, although the textiles industry saw a dramatic rise from nearly 15 billion dollars to nearly 31 billion dollars in its exported good’s revenue from 2015 to 2016, it was still the least popular field of exported goods with foreign consumers.
On the other hand, the percentage change in the turnover of the textiles exported goods ranked first with 15.24%, more than approximately 5 times that of petroleum goods. In addition, the proportion change in the sales of agriculture goods rose slightly to 0.81%, making it the slowest compared to other sectors. Finally, gems and jewellery was the sole industry that saw a marginal drop in its proportion change in the revenue, recording 5.18%.
