The bar chart compares the number of trips made by men and women in certain European country in five different purposes in a given year.
Overall, men made the highest the number of trips for commuting to work, while shopping saw the reverse trend with women. Moreover, Day trip were the least common activity for both males and females, while Sport/ Entertainment and Visiting friends saw consistent levels of both gender’s purposes.
Examining the major differences between men and women, men spending on travelling to work reached approximately 325 trips-markedly much higher than women’s roughly 225 trips. In contrast, women tend to commuting to shopping, with just over 275 trips, roughly more 100 trips than men.
Concerning the other purposes, that revealed modest, subtle differences or relatively stability. Visiting friends was chosen by both women and men in their purposes, but women had the higher number of trips – just approximately 200 trips, compared to under this figure for men. Conversely, Sports/ Entertainment also remained relatively constant, at around 175 trips for both genders, with men having a slightly higher. Interestingly, Day trip showed the lowest figures across the bar chart, at more mirror than 50 trips. Men and women did not have much differences in these purposes although men have made marginally surpassed than women. But the gap was also minimally compared to the categories observed in travelling to work and shopping.
