Overall, the proportion of obesity among both genders increased noticeably over the given three decades. It is also clear that there was more overweight men recorded than that of females.
In 1980, there was a around 19% disparity between male and females’ obesity rate, with the dominance of the former, living nearly a half of total males in Australia with excessive weigh. While the proportion of overweight men increased slightly over the following decade, it was stayed as a dominant gander. Meanwhile, the figure for female rose by 10%.
In 2000, the male obesity rate grew significantly, reaching 70%, while there was a relatively lower increase to 50% in female ones. Although the disparity between these categories extanded noticealbly, this gap narrowed and returned initially. The obesity rate among males decrease to about 69%, while the figure for females remained unchanged.
