Overall, the percentage of overweight in men happened more than women. From 1980 to 2010, the number of overweight people had increased over the time.
In 1980, almost half the male population of Australia were overweight, while only 30% of Australian women were considered as fat. In the next 10 years, the rate of overweight in Australian men increased slightly over 50%. However, women’s went up to 10% in 1990.
In 2000, the proporation of fat in both genders witnessed the dramatic increase, 70% in men and 50% in women. In the year 2010, the percentage of fat Australian men decreased slightly just under 70%, meanwhile women’s stayed the same at 50%.
