The pie charts compare the proportion of water consumed by six different agricultural products with the percentage of total income they generated in 2004.
Overall, it is clear that Vegetables were the largest consumers of water, while Fruits proved to be the most profitable product. Additionally, some products showed a direct correlation between water use and revenue, while others displayed significant disparity.
In terms of high water consumption, Vegetables used nearly half of the total water at 46%, yet they only accounted for 31% of the total income. In contrast, Fruits were much more economically efficient; despite using only 28% of the water, they generated the highest percentage of income at 40%.
Regarding the remaining products, Cereal and Lime showed identical figures for both metrics, at 12% and 8% respectively. Among the smaller categories, Dandelion was notably efficient, contributing 8% to the total income while using only 3% of the water. Conversely, Rice was the least productive, utilizing 3% of the water supply but generating a mere 1% of the total revenue.
