The bar chart above demonstrates the data taken from the years 2006 to 2009, presenting the variety of selected destinations by British emigration. It is evident that Australia is the most popular destination, with Canada, Germany, the USA, and Greece trailing behind. Each year, the quantity of emigrations vary, whether it is an increase or a decrease.
The number of emigrations to Australia remained the most popular throughout the years, showing a steady increase from slightly over 40000 to a well over 50000 emigrations throughout these four years. Meanwhile in Canada, which is the second most popular destination, the number of emigrations show almost no change from 2006 to 2007, but faced a moderate decrease from 2007 to 2008. Over the next year, in 2009, the number of emigrations to Canada rose to just under 30000 emigrations.
In the final three countries, namely Germany, the USA, and Greece, the total quantity of emigrations show a significant decrease compared to the first two. Germany and the USA have similar numbers of popularity in the four years, with the number of selected destinations always being around 20000 emigrates. Although Greece faced a dramatic increase of emigrations in 2007 — almost 35000 emigrates — compared to 2006, it faced a sharp decline in 2008 and 2009, with merely a little over 10000 emigrates.
