The given bar chart illustrates the populations, in actual and predicted figures, in three different cities from 1990 to 2000.
Overall, it is clear that the numbers of city dwellers in Jakarta and Sao Paulo witnessed a similar upward trend, except for that in Shanghai. Additionally, the figure for Sao Paulo stayed at the top throughout the surveyed timeframe, while the opposite was true for that in Jakarta.
In 1990, the figure for city dwellers in Jakarta was approximately 8 million people, and the prediction was about 11 million people in 2000, expected increase of 3 million dwellers. The number of city dwellers in Shanghai was second rank, higher than Jakarta by about 4 million dwellers, above 12 million, its expected in 2000 merely lower than the figure in 1990, approximately a million. Finally, in Sao Paulo had the highest figure, around 17 million people, and also the highest anticipated figure, about 22 million in 2000.
After the surveyed in 2000, in reality, the actual figure in all three cities experienced an upward trend. In Jakarta, the figure between actual and predicted had a smallest difference. While the highest difference between both figures was true in Shanghai, which had exactly 15 million dwellers in reality. In Sao Paulo, the actual figure, around 24 million, was higher than the anticipation figure by 2 million.
