Overall, it is clear that the numbers of city dwellers in Jakarta and Sao Paulo were witnessed a similar upward trend, except for that in Shanghai. Additionally, the figure for Sao Paulo stayed at the top throughtout the surveyed timeframe, while the opposite was true for that in Jakarta.
In 1990, the figure for city dwellers in Jakarta saw approximately at 8 million people and the prediction was about 11 million people in 2000, expected increase to 3 million dwellers. The number of city dwellers in Shanghai was at the second rank, higher than Jakarta about 4 million dwellers, above 12 million, its expected in 2000 merely lower than the figure in 1990, approximately a million. Finally, in Sao Paulo, which was the highest figure around 17 million people, also the highest anticipated about 22 million in 2000.
After the surveyed in 2000, in reality, the actual figure in all of three cities were experienced an upward trend. In Jakarta, the figure between actual and predicted had a smallest difference. While the highest in difference between both figures was true in Shanghai city, which at exactly 15 million dwellers in reality.
