The graph below illustrates the variety modes of transport used to take a journey to and from work in certain European city in the years 1960,1980 and 2000.
Overall, it can be seen that the use of car transport showed a downward trend at the beginning and started experiencing a significant increase compared to other transpots such as train,tube and bus. In addition, the use of public bus transport showed a downward trend,while the tube showed fluctuations.
According to what is shown, the use of bus transport was the main transport people used to travel to and from work in 1960 and reached 38%. Although, the tube peaked 27%.The same year the use of car transport had lowest proportions only 7%,while using trains reached 18%. In the 1980 the percentages of car transpotation experienced significant increase,whereas the bus showed a downward trend about 10%.However,the trains and tubes proportion did not show considerable increase or decrease.
In addition, the use of cars transport in 2000 showed tha highest proportions reached 35%,while the bus declined significantly to 15%.However,train experienced a sharp fall to 5% and tube increased to only 22%.
