Overall, men and women prefer the most different genres of films, but both of them were less likely to watch western. The most popular age group, who went to the cinema, was people between the ages of 26 and 44.
Action sparked the largest interest among men, number of people peaked at about 45 million. Romcom was the second genre, which men chose in the cinema in 20. Almost 25 million men watched historical dramas. As opposed to men, this type of film was the most popular among 30 million women. They rarely watched an action film in the cinema in 2018. Watching romcoms had a similar number and it is less than 30 million women.
In terms of pie chart, people aged 26-44 are the most frequent visitors to cinemas, with a proportion of 38%. The second age group was people between the ages of 18 and 25. On the contrary, older people hardly ever watched films, which was 6% in the pie chart. One-fourth of visitors to the cinema were between the ages of 45 and 55.
