The chart compares the end-of-year values of four money market indices in four years starting in 2005 namely the FTSE 100, Dow Jones, KOSPI, and CAC 40.
Overall, It is clear from the bar chart that in all four years, Dow Jones, the US market index, has always been on top, significantly higher than the other indexes. Unlike Dow Jones, the data of KOSPI are the lowest in all four years. The highest value on the chart was 13500 by Dow Jones in 2007 and the lowest value recorded was 2000 by KOSPI in 2005 and 2008.
FTSE 100 represents an upward trend from starting from 6000 in 2005 and reaching its peak at 7000 in 2007. However, in 2008, the FTSE 100 had a sharp fall to its lowest point at 4500. Likewise, CAC 40 is seen to follow a similar pattern with FTSE 100 but slightly lower. It began at 4500, increased to a constant value of 6000 for two years, and decreased to its lowest value under 4000. Overall, all four of the indexes reached their maximum value in 2007.
