Given is a chart showing how much money the UK citizens spent on three categories based on their age in 2004.
Overall, it is clearly visible that the people aged above 30 showed the most interest in food and drink except the people who is 60 to 75 years old spent more on entertainment, with people under 30 enjoy more economic consumption on restaurant and hotel.
Commencing with food and drink section, the figure for them showed a consistent upward trend with age increasing, peaking at around 23% for the people aged over 75. Similarly, the percentage of entertainment also increased, albeit less significantly. In the beginning, people who are under 45 years old shows little interest on entertainment at under 10 %. After that, it sharply soared to 23% for the people aged around 60 to 75, but declined to approximately 13% for people aged over 75.
On the contrary, comparing with these two sections, the figures for restaurant & hotel have steadily fallen down. At the beginning, the people under 30 showed the most interest in this section at 14%, after which it remained at 13% for people aged around 30 to 75 years old. After that, it sharply dropped to 7%, ranking at the second expensive section for the people aged over 75.
