The chart illustrates data on the recommended salt intake in the United Kingdom in 2000.
Overall, it is clear that the figure for males for all ages represented more salt intake than their counterparts. It is also noteworthy that people under at the age of 6 were responsible for the least salt consumption in the UK.
If we look at the number of consuming salt for children under 6 for both gender, females showed at around 1000 mm and that for males 2000 respectively. People (6-11 year old), the figure for girls contributed to around 3000 mm and it remained the same for over 12-19 years, while males at this ages consumed slightly higher, with 3500 mm.
In contrast, the consumption of salt for men who were between 20 and 39 account for the highest intake nearly 4.500 mm. In terms of consumption of salt for women for middle ages were almost the same almost 3000 mm. (20-39 and 40-60). Women over 60 reached the recommended salt intake, whereas men had at about 3500 mm salt consumption.
