This bar chart illustrates the minimum time expenditure of Canadian youth on physical activities per week.
Overall, boys were more active than girls throughout the week. Almost all boys were involved in a physical activity for at least 30 minutes once a week. However, very few boys and girls were involved in sports or any exercise for the whole week as compared to a single day.
For a single day a high percentage of both boys and girls took part in physical activities. 97% of boys played for 30 minutes while 85% were involved for an hour. The girls were also not far behind, 93% of them took part for at least 30 minutes while, 74% passed their leisure time working on their fitness for an hour.
However, if we consider at least 3 days then there was a sharp difference only 35% girls were part of physical activities for an hour and 53% of the boys which is significantly different from the percentages of boys and girls who played for about half an hour as the percentages were 83% and 73% respectively. When it comes to at least 6 days a week the percentage dropped massively and only 38% of the boys took part in healthy activities and 25% girls.
