The bar chart examines the number of households in the USA in terms of their yearly income in three years, 2007, 2011 and 2015.
Overall, what stands out on the chart is that families earning around a hundred thousand dollars dominated all the periods, with the exception of 2011 when the number of households with income between $25,000 and $49,999 was the highest. Another important point is that, 2015 was the year when US households in nearly all categories had their best figures in their earnings, and only the households with less than $25,000 income had a gradual rise in all three periods.
Looking at the details, regarding the category with earnings from $100,000 and over, the number of households accounted for just under 30 million in 2007, dominating all other categories. In 2011, the number of families in this category saw a slight decline to about 28 million, while just after 4 years, the numbers increased, reaching almost 33 million families. As regards the households earning from $25,000 to $49,999, the numbers ranged from 25 to just under 30 million in the given periods, with this category being outstanding among others in 2011, accounting for almost 30 million households.
Likewise, there was a stable rise in the number of US families earning less than $25,000, increasing from 25 million to almost 28 million families at the end of the period. Meanwhile, the figures for the families earning $50,000 – $74,999 and from $75,000 to $99,000 remained stable, accounting to only 21 million and just under 15 million respectively.
