The bar chart illustrates the proportion of the population in the UK who consumed recommended amount of vegetables in 2002,2006 and 2010.
Overall, it is noticeable from the chart that adults, especially women, exhibited bigger figures throughout the period. In contrast, the figures for children were relatively lower.
Men and women followed a similar fluctuation. The proportion of males who consumed recommended vegetables stood at 22 percent. Then it witnessed a marginal increase to 28 percent in 2006 before dipping slightly to 24 percent in the final year. The figure for females who ate recommended daily amount of vegetables stood at 25 percent in the beginning of the period. Despite a sharp rise to 32 percent in 2006, a slight decrease was observed in the proportion of females.
Children, on the other hand, only experienced negligible shifts. The proportion of children was 11 percent in 2002. Subsequently, it saw a moderate rise to 16 percent in the middle of the period. After declining slightly, the figures for children stood at 14 percent at the end of the period.
